On Thursday, the Department of Defence Communication of the Nigerian Army introduced a toll-free hotline for residents of Taraba State to report security concerns within their communities.
Captain Oni Olubodunde, acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade, announced that the new toll-free number is 0800020205. This initiative aims to improve the responsiveness of security agencies to threats and incidents.
The introduction of this hotline follows directives from the Chief of Defence Staff, designed to ensure prompt action from security forces, including the army, throughout the country.
According to Captain Oni, the toll-free lines will be available at the headquarters of all defence-led operations and the Defence Headquarters Joint Operations Centres.
“Following the Chief of Defence Staff’s directives, we have activated toll-free lines for all defence-led Joint Task Force operations. These lines will allow community members to report security issues directly,” the statement explained.
“The lines are set up for emergencies and complaints at each Joint Task Force headquarters.”
The public is encouraged to widely disseminate the toll-free number, 0800020205, to aid in reporting security incidents and ensuring enhanced community safety in Taraba State.
