Rents for non-subsidized housing increased by 1.4 percent year-on-year during the April-June period, according to the latest data from Statistics Finland.
In the Helsinki metropolitan area, rents rose modestly by 0.5 percent, while areas outside the capital saw a more notable 2 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Oulu experienced the highest rent hike at 3 percent, followed by Rovaniemi at 2.8 percent and Hämeenlinna at 2.7 percent.
Rents for state-subsidized apartments managed by The Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA) also saw significant increases. In the capital region, ARA rents went up by 5.6 percent, while the rest of Finland experienced a 4.1 percent rise.
Hämeenlinna and Kouvola recorded the highest ARA rent increases at 7 percent, with Helsinki close behind at 6.6 percent.
