Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has assured that Southeast youths will not participate in the planned national protest against President Bola Tinubu.
Uzodinma stated that those orchestrating the protest are enemies of Nigeria, aiming to destabilize the national government.
He made these remarks in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, during the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for local government elections.
Addressing the Southeast youths, Uzodinma said, “We are on the path of growth, and our enemies are trying to disrupt the national government. This government is our government; President Bola Tinubu’s administration is our administration. Therefore, no one from the Southeast will protest. We are not discontented; we are hopeful.”
He acknowledged the current hardships but emphasized that the government is working diligently to address them. “This government is barely one year in office. We are aware of the difficulties, but I promise you that the President is working hard to provide financial relief, improve infrastructure, and enhance food security. Follow your leaders and work with them,” Uzodinma urged.
