NSCDC recovers Kano court property looted by protesters

The Kano State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has handed over equipment looted by hoodlums during the nationwide hunger protest to respective owners.

The command recovered the multi-million Naira equipment belonging to the Nigerian Communication Commission and the state High Court and handed it over to the two institutions at the state command headquarters on Tuesday.

A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, issued to newsmen on Tuesday listed the items to include “two Cisco Switches costing over N400m, computer sets, air conditioners, executive chairs, doors/windows, photocopy machine, and law and judicial publications, among others.

“The items belong to the NCC’s Digital Industrial Park as well as the state High Court situated at the Audu Bako Secretariat complex, Kano.”

He explained that commandos successfully recovered the equipment shortly after it was looted and stolen by miscreants during the protest in Kano.

Receiving the items on behalf of the NCC Kano office, Mr Suleiman Chido commended the effort of the personnel of the corps for the recovery, while hoping that the synergy and relationship existing between the commission and the NSCDC would be maintained.

Also, a staff member received the items on behalf of the state High Court and lauded the NSCDC for its patriotic act.

The state NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Falala, reiterated the command’s commitment to securing and protecting national assets and infrastructure.
