The Nigerian government has repatriated 190 citizens from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:45 am on Tuesday and were received by a team of government officials led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
According to a statement signed by Bashir Idris Garga, NEMA Director for the North Central Zone, the returnees were profiled and documented by relevant agencies. They were also advised to conduct themselves with decorum and responsibility upon their return to Nigeria.
“The federal government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity,” the statement concluded.
