Nigeria is in big trouble, listen to Ndume, Dele Momodu writes Tinubu

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation International, has urged President Bola Tinubu to heed the advice of Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South. Momodu emphasized the critical state of Nigeria and called on Tinubu to enforce discipline as a leader.

In an open letter titled “Urgent message for President Tinubu,” Momodu expressed his concerns and provided recommendations for the president. He highlighted the importance of addressing the country’s economic issues and curbing government waste.

Momodu specifically mentioned the actions of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, suggesting that Wike had shown disrespect towards Tinubu in the Fubara matter and should be sanctioned.

Here are key points from Momodu’s message:

1. **Nigeria’s Troubled State**: Momodu stressed that Nigeria is facing significant challenges, with a collapsing economy requiring urgent attention. He criticized the government’s excessive spending on non-essential items like presidential jets and lavish monuments, urging a shift towards frugality.

2. **Focus on Performance**: Momodu suggested that Tinubu’s desire for a second term should be rooted in performance rather than wasteful spending. He advised investing in vocational skills for the youth, local agriculture, and upgrading educational institutions, rather than distributing cash through politicians.

3. **Listening to Senator Ndume**: Momodu praised Senator Ndume as a genuine friend and advisor to Tinubu, cautioning against the hero-worshippers in the National Assembly who may lead him astray.

4. **Enforcing Discipline**: Highlighting the need for discipline, Momodu pointed out Wike’s public disrespect towards Tinubu and urged the president to take action to prevent further chaos.

In his own words, Momodu stated, “Your Excellency, I have decided to write this open letter to you as a concerned friend and brother. As you’re aware, I’m a member of the opposition but you and I have had a long history together.

“I owe you only one thing, TRUTH. It is very obvious that the first thing that takes flight in the Presidential villa is TRUTH. The reason is simple. Some Nigerians are experts in hijacking men and women of power. The deification process is often swift and irreversible. I’m writing you today, not because I expect you to act on my suggestions, but to put it on record that someone gave you the true picture of things. I’m also hoping that some of your friends will read and interpret to you, in a sober moment.

“In the name of God, beware of those hero-worshippers at the National Assembly who have turned you into God. NDUME is your best friend. Listen to him. There’s danger ahead.

“You must enforce DISCIPLINE as a leader. Your new disciple, NYESOM WIKE, has publicly disrespected you in the FUBARA matter. You need to sanction him before he throws Nigeria into total chaos.”

Momodu’s message underscores his deep concern for Nigeria’s future and his commitment to speaking truth to power.
