APC Wins Ebonyi Council Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the local government and councillorship elections held across the 13 local government areas of Ebonyi State over the weekend.

Jossy Eze, the chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC), announced the results in Abakaliki, the state capital. He noted that three political parties participated in the election, which he described as free, fair, and credible.

In Abakaliki local government, Ebere Stephen Nwogba won with 94,071 votes, while Timothy Nwachi emerged victorious in Afikpo local government area with 51,186 votes. Chima Ekumankama and Chinedu Uburu garnered 71,040 and 44,967 votes in Edda and Ebonyi local governments, respectively. Ogodoali Nomeh and Mrs. Euphemia Nwali secured wins with 42,709 and 50,770 votes.

Sunday Nwankwo and Emmanuel Ajah achieved 83,791 and 35,905 votes in Ikwo and Ivo councils, respectively. Stephen Emenike received 85,887 votes in Izzi council, while Agwu Peace Ifeoma scored 48,392 votes.
